The love of candle making has been around since 500BC with the ancient Romans producing dipped tallow candles. To get the most out of your soy candle, candles require a little maintenance.
First let's start with memory: Candles have memory therefore the first burn of your new candle is the most important. A candle will burn out to the last boundary set, good rule of thumb is to burn your candle for a least 1 hr per inch in diameter. Do not lite your candle if you cannot allow it to burn for at least 2-3 hrs. If the candles first burn is not allowed to reach the edge the candle will only burn out to the first boundary set by the first burn. The only way to fix this is, the next time the candle is burned it must be allowed to burn extra long to get hot enough to push past the boundery set by the previous burn.
Second most important thing is to TRIM the WICK: Most all candle wicks need to be trimmed before each new burn. This allows to candle to burn another 2-3 Hr cycle without getting too hot and burning the candle too fast.
If the wick is burning too hot this will cause the fragrance and wax to burn at a faster rate thus giving less burn time. Through lots of testing our candles are wicked to burn edge to edge within 2-2.5 hrs with trimming wick every 3-4 hrs for maximum burn quality.
